Wild Bill

Capt. “Wild Bill” Pagel has fished Long Island Sound and Block Island Sound for more than 40 years, running charters for the last 25 years. He holds a USCG OUPV six-pack license for CT, NY, RI, and MA plus a federal HMS permit.

His prime targets include striped bass, fluke, sea bass, bluefish, blackfish, porgy, false albacore, and (depending on season) thresher, tuna, and mahi.

When not on the water, you can catch Wild Bill running the tackle shop at Spicer’s Marina and testing new gear that’s about to hit the shelves. He downs coffee by the pot and fishes more than ninety tides a season. Never one to sit still for long, he also enjoys bike riding and hitting the gym in the off-season. If he is sitting still, though, he’d prefer it to be with one of Tom Clancy’s John Clark novels in-hand.
